  • Michigan’s iGaming revenue is projected to exceed $2 billion as online gambling operators sustain a positive growth trend.
  • Golden Nugget recently transitioned into a casino-only model as the online sportsbook shut down following updates to its iGaming App.

Bragg Gaming Group now has a presence in The Great Lakes State. This is the outcome of a new partnership between Golden Nugget Casino and the gambling technology supplier.

Before the announcement of this new deal last week, the gambling technology company had been working on expanding its presence in North America.

According to available information, Bragg Gaming Group considers this new development a major milestone in its expansion bid. This is connected to the prominent maturity of Michigan online gambling space.

Golden Nugget Online Casino Adds New Titles from Bragg to Its Impressive Gaming Catalog

Last week, Bragg Gaming Group announced that it has now expanded its operations into the Michigan online gambling industry. This was made possible through a record deal with Golden Nugget Online Casino MI.

Recently, the gambling technology outfit has invested into multiple expansion efforts in the United States which makes this move unsurprising.

In Michigan, Golden Nugget is already well known for its wide variety of games across numerous categories. The online casino already features some of the best online slots from A-list brands, such as Aristocrat, NextGen and IGT.

This collaboration allowed Golden Nugget online casino in Michigan to offer some of Bragg’s Atomic Slot Lab popular titles in its gaming catalog. Some of these new games include Cai Fu Emperor Ways, Egyptian Magic, and Devil’s Lock (produced by Bluberi).

On top of this, the online casino also received the games through access to Bragg’s proprietary Remote Game Server technology. This is an interesting benefit for the online casino as this particular program is equipped with Fuze promotional features such as quests, free rounds and tournaments.

Bragg Expands Presence into Michigan as State’s iGaming Revenue is Projected to Keep Positive Growth Trend

There is no gainsaying that Michigan online casinos contributed to the state’s status as one of the top three gambling markets in the country. In fact, the Wolverine State has seen its revenue from iGaming experiencing remarkable growth.

In 2022, iGaming revenues in Michigan reached $1.58 billion. This figure grew the following year by 21.6% to reach $1.92 billion.

According to projections from H2 Gambling Capital, the iGaming revenue will maintain an upward trend in 2024. The Michigan iGaming market will most likely record a gross win exceeding $2 billion.

Based on this positive outlook, it is not surprising that Bragg Gaming Group decided to gain a foothold in the State of Michigan as an appropriate “next step” in its expansion project. The company already has fully functional operations in top iGaming markets in the US including Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Bragg’s chief operating officer for the Americas, Kunal Mishra, intimated that the company will “continue to strengthen our relationships with key iGaming operators in North America, and the expansion with Golden Nugget in Michigan is a testament to our successful strategy”.

“This achievement builds on Bragg’s existing collaboration with Golden Nugget, aligning with the company’s vision to deliver cutting-edge gaming solutions to players in the rapidly growing U.S. iGaming market.”

According to the press release, Bragg Gaming Group plans to contribute to the long-term growth of its collaborators and offer players an optimum gaming experience. The company intends to achieve through its “high quality, engaging content”.

Golden Nugget Shuts Sportsbook to Focus Solely on Online Casino Operations

Golden Nugget has finalized plans to close its online sportsbook product in Michigan since it announced plans to do so in January. This is coming after the online operator updated its iGaming app to focus exclusively on offers related to the casino business only.

Following this update, sports betting enthusiasts are being redirected by Golden Nugget to DraftKings Sportsbook Michigan. The online gambling giant had previously acquired Golden Nugget in May 2022.

Golden Nugget’s action makes a lot of sense when you consider that it ranks 13th with a lifetime online handle of just $36.3 million as of January 2024. In contrast, its parent company, DraftKings, sits second in lifetime online handle with $3.5 billion.

Golden Nugget consistently ranks among the most successful online casinos in Michigan, which explains why Bragg is eager to collaborate. In 2023, the online casino generated $81.7 million in revenue, marking a 12.5% increase from the $72.6 million recorded in 2022. This sustained growth made Golden Nugget an attractive prospect for one of the most renowned suppliers in the gambling industry worldwide.
