  • The Championship is set to offer a $2 million guaranteed prize pool and qualifiers will start throughout May.
  • With as low as $2, players can stand a chance to win a $5,500 Las Vegas Poker Qualifier package.

Poker players are set for the experience of a lifetime throughout the rest of May. Quite recently, BetMGM Michigan announced that it would be teaming up with ARIA Casino to run qualifiers ahead of the BetMGM Poker Championship. The qualifier is aimed at helping Michigan poker lovers participate in the upcoming contest which promises a $2 million guaranteed prize pool.

Players who participate in the qualifiers stand a chance to win a massive $6,500 poker championship package. Interestingly, participation in the mega-qualifiers costs as little as $2. Michigan has a rich history participating in the BetMGM Championship.

What to Expect from the BetMGM Michigan Poker Championship Qualifiers

For the second time, BetMGM will be collaborating with ARIA to deliver an outstanding experience at the BetMGM Poker Championship in Las Vegas. Scheduled to hold in the summer, the event has had its guaranteed prize pool doubled from last year and now stands at $2 million. Michigan players can compete in the main tournament by participating in the qualifiers that will run throughout this month.

Commenting on the prospects of this year’s championship, BetMGM Director of Poker, Luke Staudenmaier said the following in a press statement.

“It’s great to bring BetMGM players back to Las Vegas during one of poker’s most exciting times of the year. For a second straight year, ARIA is delivering a Championship event and we are happy to continue to build on our relationship with MGM Resorts, while connecting BetMGM online players to the best poker rooms in the United States.”

Michigan players who win in the online poker qualifiers will get handsomely rewarded. Some of the prizes included in the $6,500 package include:

  • $3,500 BetMGM Poker Championship entry ticket valid from June 9-13
  • $800 Mystery Bounty tournament entry ticket June 8
  • 6 Night Hotel Accommodation at ARIA Resort between June 7-13
  • BetMGM Travel Swag Bag
  • All-expense paid travel

How to Participate in the BetMGM Poker Championship Qualifiers

The first step to participating in the qualifiers is to log in to a BetMGM poker account and sign up for qualifier tournaments. You can register using BetMGM Tournament Dollars or buy-ins as low as $2. There are also deposit codes that can offer additional seats in the qualifiers.

Will O’Connor, BetMGM Poker Representative noted that the minimum buy-in fee of $2 is to enable more online poker players to enjoy the live experience this summer in Las Vegas.

MGM Resorts Director of Poker Strategy, Sean McCormack also revealed why the guaranteed prize pool was increased this year.

“Partnering with BetMGM for another summer championship is a tremendous opportunity for us to offer poker players a one-of-a-kind experience,” McCormack said. “ARIA has doubled the guarantee from last year to $2 million, giving the competitors the chance to win one of our industry’s top prize pools.”

Players interested in the qualifiers are to log in to the BetMGM poker account between May 15-20 and May 20-27 to register for the qualifier. Any deposit of at least $100 with the code VEGASBABYVEGAS between Monday to Saturday in the month of May will count towards qualifying for the $10,000 ARIA Depositor Satellite, another bonus reward.

There will be Weekly Sunday qualifier tournaments where winners will receive $6,500 packages. The tournaments are scheduled for May 21, May 28, and June 1. At each tournament, there are five, ten and two packages to be won, respectively.

Michigan will be looking to dominate the championship this year after one of its players Benji Felson finished fifth last year, after entering through the qualifiers. Felson earned $51,587 and joined the championship through a $500 online tournament qualifier last summer.

Michigan Lottery Player Claims Over $500K in Progressive Jackpot

For the second consecutive month, a player from Michigan has won more than $500K in the Michigan Lottery second chance progressive jackpot. The winner, a resident of Kent County, won $538,958 after a monthly drawing earlier in May. Just last month, another lucky winner claimed $625K.

This 60-year-old winner for May told the press that he was uncertain he would win and ignored a call from the Lottery as a scam. He hopes to spend the winnings on his mortgage and save the rest of the cash.

Michigan players are eligible to participate in the second chance progressive jackpot drawings after it launched in March last year. An entry costs $0.50 and bets are used to fund the progressive prize. The next drawing comes up on June 14, 2023.
